Our Flag Is Bigger – A New Era of Leather Pride

Introducing the New Giant Leather Pride Flag

Minnesota Leather Pride is excited to unveil our new giant Leather Pride flag, which measures over 15 feet longer than our previous flag. It is the largest Leather Pride flag in the United States, if not the world.

This flag was unfurled for the first time at the 2025 Twin Cities Pride Parade. It symbolizes more than just size; it reflects the strength and diversity of our growing community. The flag is slightly narrower to fit the newly rebuilt Hennepin Avenue. However, it holds a broader meaning. Our Flag is Bigger because it represents all of us.

This significant project took two years to complete. It was made possible by countless volunteer hours, generous donations, and the leadership of Karri Joe and the MNLP Flag Committee. We appreciate everyone who helped with this effort.

First unveiled in 1998, the original Leather Pride and rainbow flags became a mainstay in the Twin Cities Pride parade until 2007. The inaugural flag, crafted by Carl Gscheidmeier and Colin Spriestersbach, was later succeeded by a new flag in 2008 through a ceremonial handover during the parade. This original flag now resides within the Leather Archives & Museum in Chicago, standing as a testament to our past.
