MNLP 2018 Theme: Resist

RESIST

We’ve seen that word all over the place in recent months. It seems fitting that this is the 2018 theme for Minnesota Leather Pride. We are currently accepting artwork submissions for this theme. We will use this artwork for our annual MNLP Dog Tags and other promotional items throughout the year.

Each year the theme, selected from community suggestions, is the driving force in our programming and message.

This year Resist was chosen. Resist boxes. Resist racists. Resist labels. Resist fascists. Resist erasure. Resist misogyny. Resist trans-phobia. Resist stereotypes. Resist the ‘should’. Resist the ‘supposed to’.

The community acknowledges allegations of harassment and discrimination in partnered venues, emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance. A project was initiated to address safety and inclusivity concerns, particularly for transgender and AFAB individuals.
