2019 Titleholders

Minnesota Leather Pride Weekend Update

The Minnesota Leather Pride board has decided not to have a 2021 title contest or extend our 2019 title holders for another year.

Our reason for not holding a 2021 title contest is the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. When we needed to start planning for the event, vaccination rates were still too low, and the results were too uncertain to plan a safe event. And now, with the threat of the COVID variants, we know that hosting a large event would still be a risk to some people in our communities.

Our reason for not extending our 2019 title holders for another year is because we want to close the books on the 2019 contest event and can’t do that until the term of their title year has ended. In 2020 the MNLP board agreed to extend our 2019 Minnesota Leather Sir, Ms. Minnesota Leather Pride, Mx. Minnesota Leather Pride, and Minnesota Leather boy titles an extra year to give our titleholders more time to attend contests and events as the current titleholders. Understandably, other contests and events made the same decisions we did to not hold their events in 2020 and 2021.

We want to thank Minnesota Leather Sir Britt, Ms. Minnesota Leather Pride Monica, Mx. Minnesota Leather Pride Rylee, and Minnesota Leather boy Ray for being our titleholders for 2019 and 2020. We regret that your title experience was significantly different because of the pandemic. We hope that all of you will have the opportunity to compete in future contests if you want. We wish you the best of luck! You will always be our Minnesota Leather Pride 2019 title family.

To mark the end of the extended 2019 title years, Minnesota Leather Pride is hosting a small Minnesota Leather Pride Weekend 2021 event at The Black Hart of St. Paul on Friday, September 17th, at 6:30 pm. We ask that you wear a mask, even if you are vaccinated unless actively eating or drinking.
