On Sunday, June 13 we lost an amazing leader in Minnesota’s Leather/Kink community. Chaz was not just a past Minnesota Leather Pride President and Board member, Chaz was a longtime community member and cherished friend to so many.
As news of his passing started to break, we were all struck by the many, many wonderful and kind words people shared and continue to share while celebrating and remembering Chaz’s life. Perhaps the most frequent comments were those expressing having wanted to reconnect with Chaz at future community events. Like many, we all have a deep feeling of sadness and regret that we will not get that chance. The joy for life Chaz felt seemed to give us all something we needed at just the right moments. We will forever miss Chaz.
As members of the Minnesota Leather Pride Board were given the news of his passing on Monday night, every single one of us sat in shock and disbelief. Some of us cried. Some of us were numb. Each of us holds unique memories of Chaz that we will forever remember in our hearts.
As soon as information is available about a celebration of Chaz’s life, we will share it with the community so that all who knew and loved Chaz are able to participate.
Please care for one another. Hug each other now because tomorrow is too late. We see you. We see all of you.
